Stuffed Cabbage
1 medium sized head cabbage 2 or 3 smoked pig hocks 1/2 cup rice 1/2 pound ground beef 1/2 pound ground pork 1 medium onion minced 1 egg 1 #2 can sauerkraut 1 can tomato soup plus 1 can water salt and pepper to taste
Core cabbage and steam 10 minutes. Mix 2 meats up, add rice, egg, onion, salt and pepper, blend thoroughly. Take a leaf of cabbage, put meat mixture on the thick end of cabbage, and roll, folding sides in. Cut up remaining cabbage, mix with kraut, layer in pan. Place one layer of cabbage mixture, pig hock, and stuffed cabbage, alternately until all is taken up. Mix soup and water, pour over top. Cook about an hour or until rice and meat are cooked. Oven 350.
